The OnPoint Spotlight is an ongoing blog series that highlights our employees, celebrating the drive and personality of individuals on our team. It’s one way we show our appreciation for their hard work and achievements while helping our community get to know the people who make things happen here at OnPoint.

This week’s employee spotlight is on Javier Cuesta, Senior Teller at the South Salem branch. Javier, 26, was born in California, raised in Washington, and now lives in Salem, Oregon. He describes himself as a laid-back and calm person who loves to have fun and enjoy life. Passionate about the outdoors, exercise, and spending time with family and friends, Javier is an active and social individual.

When did you start your career with OnPoint & What were you doing before joining OnPoint ?

I started my career with OnPoint in October of 2024. Before joining OnPoint, I was an Assistant Manager for Calvin Klein at the Woodburn Premium Outlets for roughly five years.

Please share something about your history with the company, your goals within your new role, and/or some kudos for your team or department.

I didn’t have much history with OnPoint, and I had never even heard of OnPoint prior to being hired. My goal for my current position is to keep learning and growing, so I can assist members and my team in the best way possible. My team is amazing, and I feel so lucky to have been hired at the South Salem location. I feel comfortable asking questions and sharing any concerns I have. It’s a wonderful team to be a part of.

Can you play any instruments?

Yes, I play the guitar. I’ve been playing since I was about 10 years old, and it’s something I love doing. It keeps the stress away and when I have spare time you’ll find me jamming out.

What’s your favorite guilty pleasure?

My favorite guilty pleasure would have to be re-watching Game of Thrones or any of the Lord of the Rings movies. I am a huge fanatic of fantasy lore and cannot get enough of it, same with comic books and video games.

Which sports teams do you root for?

I have a couple of sports teams I root for. I’m a huge New Orleans Saints fan when it comes to the NFL. My favorite baseball team, has to be the Atlanta Braves—I know it’s weird! For every other sport, I’m kind of neutral, but I am obsessed with MMA and UFC they get me excited, and I love watching great competitions with the best fighters in the world.

What was the best concert you’ve ever attended?

The best concert I have ever been to was one of my favorite rappers, Denzel Curry. It was my first year living in Oregon, and my friends came down from Washington to visit me. We all had a great time and watched an awesome show.

How would you describe your team in one word?

I would describe my team as strong. This team is special in the way everyone puts in their best effort for the team and the company. We all genuinely care for each other and want to see each other succeed and prosper in life. I’m lucky to be here at South Salem.
