Does OnPoint offer Medallion Signature Guarantee services?

Yes! OnPoint provides Medallion Signature Guarantee services at no cost to members*. What is a Medallion Signature Guarantee? Medallion Signature Guarantees are required when transferring securities between accounts or owners. A Medallion Signature Guarantee confirms your identity, certifies your signature as genuine, and ensures that you possess the legal authority to transfer the securities. Common scenarios where you might need a Medallion Signature Guarantee include giving securities as a gift or donation, moving securities between accounts, or transferring out of the name of a deceased owner.

  • Since Medallion Signature Guarantees serve to verify your identity, signature, and legal authority to transfer securities, they must be performed in-person at one of our branches. Contact your nearest branch today to set up an appointment. (Please make sure to include "Medallion Signature Guarantee" in your appointment request.)
  • A valid government-issued photo ID, proof of authorization to conduct the transaction (such as Power of Attorney or Letters of Authorization), and proof of the security’s ownership (such as a stock certificate or a recent statement from the account holding the security) are required for all requests for Medallion Signature Guarantee services. The exact requirements for your transactions depend on who owns the securities and who is signing on the transaction; your OnPoint representative can help you determine exactly what you need.

    *Medallion Signature Guarantee services are available to members in good standing who have held an account at OnPoint for at least six months.
